EVERY WEDNESDAY - THE "NUTS" POKER LEAGUE
The Punch Bowl is actively involved in the "Nuts" poker league, with up to 30 participants taking their place every Wednesday night from 8.30 pm, and normally finishes about 11.00 pm. The Punch Bowl has also hosted two Regional Finals with up to 100 players seated and playing in an all day match.
EVERY THURSDAY - THE PUNCH BOWL QUIZ NIGHT
With up to 12 teams competing, Thursday nights Quiz Night, starting at 8.30pm, is one of the busiest around. Varying levels of questions abound, most of them in the difficult bracket, this Quiz night is not for the weak of brain! Plenty of fun though throughout the three rounds, and a chance to win some money on the Play your Cards Right round at the end of the evening. A hot supper is also provided half way with plenty of breaks for those who like to take the nicotine. Good prizes and of course the Booby Prize are all up for grabs.
CASK ALE AND COMEDY - LAST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTHY
On the last Friday of each month, The Punch Bowl holds a Cask Ale and Comedy Night starting from 9.00pm. Excellent comedians and double acts are booked from far and wide and these nights are getting more and more popular. A full range of Cask Ales are available on the night at a special promotional price of £2 a pint.
This month however, due to other committments, the Comedy Night will be on Friday 16th January with a great double act called "The Rip Rock Brothers" a superb rock'n'roll comedy double act. February will revert back to the last friday of the month with a welcome return, on Friday 27th Feb of another great double act "Sneezwort"
EVERY SATURDAY - LIVE MUSIC
Starting at 9.30 pm, The Punch Bowl brings the best of local bands into the pub for a night of good music and banter. Everything from good ol' rock'n'roll to modern day ballads, 60's to modern. A full list of the months bands are printed below.
